Three Things from Trustees

The Trustees met on Wednesday March 10, 2010 for their regular monthly meeting. Here are the three things you need to know from that gathering.

• We spent the majority of the meeting mapping out our procedures for hiring a new secretary. Rosi recently announcement that she will be stepping down as church secretary in order to focus on the 4 other jobs she is currently working (we are very thankful for the hardwork and dedication Rosi has put in to serve the church!). A full job description is being put together and then it will be publicly listed with interviews to follow as we work to fill this position.
  
  
• The Roofing Company will be coming out at the end of this week to repair the leaky hole in the roof in the sanctuary.
  
  
• Our renters at the parsonage will be closing on their new home soon and Del will schedule a full walk through of the parsonage with the expectation that an All Church Workday will be scheduled in order to get the place back into top notch shape.
  

Three things from Trustees

The Trustees met on Monday September 21 at 6PM for their regular monthly meeting. Here are the THREE THINGS you need to know from that meeting:

1. Ted Shepherd will be doing his Eagle Scout project by building shelves in the upstairs education wing. Which means, we'll have a church library! Construction is scheduled to take place Saturday November 7, with wall painting and prep work to proceed the project.
   
   
2. Trustees and Church Council will host a joint meeting to discuss future finances, the state of the church budget, and necessary plans to move forward.
   
   
3. There was a detailed discussion of church expenditures, with particular attention to church energy use over the summer and our escalating costs in that regard.
   

Three Things You Need to Know from Trustees

The Trustees met on Monday evening, March 16, 2009. Here are the three things you need to know from that meeting.

1) We had an in depth conversation about the state of the finances at the Encanto Community Church, including our financial future now that the Academy is no longer renting the building, the hit our carry-over balance from 2008 has taken in the first two months of 2009, and plans for the future financial health of the congregation.

2) Discussed the "Finances" page of the new wedding guidelines including the difference in fees for members versus non-members.

3) A new paint color has picked for Fellowship Hall (note: in the meantime since the meeting the stage has been reclaimed, flooding the Fellowship Hall with natural light from the three re-exposed windows; helping to make our refurbishment of Fellowship Hall that much more eye popping).

Three Things from the Trustees

The Trustees met Monday night February 16, 2009. Here are the three things you need to know from that meeting:

1) We looked over the portion of the budget trustees is responsible for (salary packages for clergy and professional staff, building and grounds expenses) and put together proposals for the 2009-10 budget.

2) The City of Phoenix will be replacing the current bus stop in front of the church with a covered bus stop while making the entire thing more handicap accessible. This will come at no cost to the church and will not infringe on our property or the entrance to our parking lot.

3) Some routine maintenance was finished and we received those reports (the sliding door in the nursery was put back on track, and the washing machine drain in the parsonage was cleaned out)

Three things from the Trustees Meeting

The Trustees met Monday December 15 at 6PM, here at the Encanto Community Church. Here are the three things you need to you from that meeting:

1) We had extended conversation about new "No Parking" signs to go in on the church side of Windsor Avenue, replacing the ones the city recently removed. Del will follow-up with the city about the signs which are to read "No Parking at Any Time".

2) The large pine tree at the parsonage will be trimmed.

3) We discussed re-painting the sanctuary (both the water damage on the ceiling as well as the front walls) as well re-painting the interior of the Church House. The conversation will be revisited after the Christmas Holidays.
