Whiteboard: Renovation Celebration

It is Renovation Celebration this Sunday!

After months of planning, a successful capital campaign, and a summer filled with construction projects here on the church campus this Sunday we are going to celebrate all of the good work that has been done for the Property Improvement Project!

And friends, this place looks great!

So we are going to celebrate as only a church can: With a worship service to bless and rededicate our church buildings and grounds AND with a great big luncheon in the newly renovated Fellowship Hall!

We have sent out special invitations to all of the work crews and construction teams that helped out with the Property Improvement Project. We'll recognize the PIP Team, The Decorating Divas, and the Scores of Volunteers from our church that helped the project to come in ahead of schedule and under budget! We'll lift up the handful of smaller projects that we still have left. And above all we'll celebrate the God of Grace and Glory who makes all these things possible and is leading us now into the next great steps in our ministry here at FCC Scottsdale.

As such we'll be using II Corinthians 5:1-10 as our guiding scripture for the day. In it the Apostle Paul reminds us that "We walk by faith, and not by sight." On this day of celebration, appreciation and dedication we will turn once more to the God who leads us by faith, the God who calls us by name and invites to walk with him on a grand and glorious journey, the God that we know and love through the mission and ministry of Jesus. Come join us this Sunday, friends for Renovation Celebration!

2 Corinthians 5:1-10
For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this tent we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling— if indeed, when we have taken it off we will not be found naked. For while we are still in this tent, we groan under our burden, because we wish not to be unclothed but to be further clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.
So we are always confident; even though we know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord— for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we do have confidence, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him. For all of us must appear before the judgement seat of Christ, so that each may receive recompense for what has been done in the body, whether good or evil.
